About THE OMH
INCLUSIVENESS STATEMENT
"The first commandment is: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:29-31
In accordance with Jesus' teaching, The Old Meeting House seeks to honor and love all people as our neighbors. Our congregation welcomes all to full participation in membership, mission, and ministry without discrimination due to race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical, mental, or emotional condition, or educational or financial situation or background. The Old Meeting House is an Opening and Affirming community church with strong denominational ties to the United Church of Christ. This means that everyone - EVERYONE - is welcome. Valuing our historic and current diversity, we strive to deepen our love for and understanding of God and all people.

OUR VISION
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
Mark 12:30
We at The Old Meeting House strive to serve God and one another fully, with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength.
With all our hearts:
God’s grace comes to us all in different ways. We believe that when our hearts are touched, God is speaking to us. Through worship and prayer we strive to open our hearts to receive God’s love, compassion and forgiveness.
With all our souls:
Our souls are nourished in diverse ways. For some people it is through serving others, for some through music, dance and art. Still others feel their souls strengthened through contemplative practice and prayer. Our worship services encourage exploration, celebration and thankfulness.
With all our minds:
Believing that intellectual questioning and study are foundational to faith formation, we encourage honest and open examination of the scriptures, Christian traditions and varying faith perspectives.
With all our strength:
We believe ourselves called to serve others and love our neighbors
with all our strength. Gathered together, with open hearts, souls and minds:
We covenant with God and with one another
and do bind ourselves in the presence of God
to walk together in all God’s ways, ever watchful
for how God’s blessed word of truth
shall be revealed unto us.
