Rameen Zahed will begin as Co-pastor, March 1, 2022

Humble, scholarly, authentic, caring, and a person with whom one feels immediately comfortable. These are some of the words that the Old Meeting House Search Committee has used to describe Rameen Zahed, the candidate your Search Committee is recommending to be our newly settled pastor at The Old Meeting House. Rameen, with his wife Aster, are the parents of three teenagers. Aster is an ER nurse, with a hard-working and delightfully spunky personality. They are most eager for him to accept this call to be our pastor.

Rameen and his family currently reside in Houston, Texas, but he is ready and willing to become a Vermonter and embrace all our beautiful state has to offer. One who enjoys an active lifestyle, he is looking forward to outdoor adventures with ambitions for biking and skiing. He has a passion for pastoral care and is sincere in his desire to meet and come to know the people of our community.

After interviewing over twenty candidates, we feel confident that Rameen Zahed will be a wonderful fit to take the Old Meeting House deeper and wider. Rameen holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary. Although he has not taken the typical route to a pastorate, he brings a lifetime of experience in Capital Management and as a Risk Manager.

The road less traveled has motivated and inspired Rameen to be a deeply moved and spiritual pastor with the Old Meeting House being his first call to ministry. He is a devoted scholar of the Bible and thoroughly enjoys leading deep discussions on the background of the stories and how we can apply them to our lives today. He looks forward to pastoral care and immersing himself into our beloved community.

Blessings to all and be encouraged,
Tim Shea, chair of the Old Meeting House Search Committee
