Choir
The choir is an enthusiastic group of music lovers from all
levels of
experience who come together with the purpose of raising their
voices to the glory of God. The choir meets on Wednesday evenings
from 7:00 - 9:00pm, September through June and again on Sunday
mornings at 8:30 am throughout the year.
A typical Sunday morning might offer everything from a simple
hymn, Taize chants, African Freedom songs, Gospel selections,
to more challenging choral works from composers such as Randall
Thompson, Handel, Haydn, Pergolesi or Bach. Special selections
from larger choral works are presented at Christmas and Easter,
and there is often an Advent Concert and another again in
the spring or fall where, in the past, works such as Faure's
"Requiem", Hayden's "Seasons", Handel's
"Messiah" sing along, and Pergolesi's "Magnificat"
have been performed. |
